UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors wear out over time and need to be replaced. In this case, it is important that the new handles match the exact dimensions of the previous handle.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. If you cannot measure using the lock in its position, you can remove it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon may be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, therefore it is crucial that it is not too long.

The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the risk of attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in an opposite direction. This can help to deflect attacks and keep your door safe.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the lock's break line and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is much quicker and less difficult than opening the door with a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in which can impede an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located within the base plate of your conservatory door handles handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to bring the multipoint lock handles for bifold doors to their normal position after use. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This component is the best way to solve this issue. These spring cassettes are specially designed for use with multipoint locks sprung but they won't work with multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will need to have a custom hole cut into your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They have an elongated square that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and are sold as a set.
