UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors are worn out over time and will need to be replaced. It is essential to keep the same dimensions as the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently from lever-type window handles replacement on doors. These handle types can either operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are usually used on UPVC double glazed doors. They come in a variety of styles and finishes.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC handle lever pads come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors generally requiring different levels of security.

The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the other end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place, but when this isn't possible, you can remove it to take measurements. It is crucial to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The design of many modern cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These features are designed to minimize the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to deflect the attack and keep your doors safe.

There are also cylinders that have been made to withstand snapping. This is an increasingly common method of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is targeted using a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is found in the base plate of your door handle. It provides a sprung solution to return your multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after usage. The handles had no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was disengaged. The addition of this simple element is one of the most effective ways to fix this and it is also an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't always simple to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes have been specifically made for use with multipoint locks sprung, they will not fit unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to damaged or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and they are supplied individually.
