Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the things that make your weapons and armor better. You can locate them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in item-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that has them or by using an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
